RESEARCH STUDIO + PROTOTYPE

Introducing the PACE Research Studio + PROTOTYPE® collaboration.

Approved by our favourite runners, even when they’re not running.

A study of five people from the KA YO community, moving between performance and the rest of life. Not only as runners chasing pace, distance, or results, but as people with rituals, work, habits, and worlds of their own.

At the centre is the frame. A collaboration between Research Studio and PROTOTYPE®, inspired by the anatomy of the dragonfly and shaped into a lightweight wraparound silhouette built for comfort, peripheral coverage, and everyday performance.

The glasses become the constant. Worn through movement, sweat, speed, and shifting light, then carried into the quieter parts of the day. The images live in that duality: performance meets personality, function meets feeling, movement meets stillness.

Running is the proof point, but the story is bigger than the run.

PACE + KA-YO PROTOTYPE®

MEET CASPER

A long-time friend of KA YO, Casper first entered our world after being cast for a campaign. Since then, he has become part of the community in a more natural way, showing up at events, leading runs, and bringing his own energy into different projects.

By day, Casper works in construction, building scaffolding on sites around the city. A demanding and repetitive job, both physically and mentally. Running became a way to release that energy, and over time, he found his way into ultra trail running.

For Casper, the trail is less about pace and more about testing distance, endurance, and how far the body can be pushed. A different kind of work, with a different kind of reward.

MEET ORNELLA

Ornella first came into the KA YO world as a guest at our events. A year ago, she was cast for an On campaign, and since then, she has become part of the community in a more natural way.

For Ornella, running and crochet share the same foundation: trusting the process. Progress does not always show itself when you want it to, but it always appears if you keep going.

A practice in patience, rhythm, and repetition. Different movements, but the same quiet belief in continuing.

MEET MARIO

Mario is a newer addition to the KA YO community, but already feels like part of the rhythm around it.

He first got into climbing through friends, almost by accident, but it quickly became something bigger. What started as an invitation turned into a shift in lifestyle, a way to move, focus, and reset.

Alongside running, climbing has become Mario’s way to stay grounded. A contrast to long nights behind the decks as a DJ, giving him space to stay healthy, unwind, and reconnect with the body in a different way.

MEET EDUARDA

Eduarda first came into the KA YO world as an event attendee, with a smile that is hard to miss and impossible not to catch.

By day, she works as a Data Scientist, exploring data to help people discover and enjoy the music they love. Outside of work, movement becomes something more personal.

For Eduarda, exercise in any form is a way to narrow the noise. A moment to focus on one thing at a time, reconnect with herself, and return with a clearer mind.

MEET MELVIN

Whether you’re local to Södermalm or only passed through once, chances are you’ve met Melvin. The kind of person whose energy fills a room before he even says anything.

By day, he works as a sommelier, moving between people, service, and long hours with a pace that rarely slows down. With that much energy, it needed somewhere to go. That’s where running came in.

What started as a way to release turned into something more focused. Fast paced runs, high effort sessions, and lately, a growing pull towards trail and endurance. For Melvin, running is a way to move the energy forward.
