MORAKNIV®KA YO Garberg
Founded in 1891 in Dalarna, Sweden, @morakniv has spent over a century crafting tools rooted in function, tradition, and resilience. Now, 134 years later, we’ve merged our Swedish DNA to celebrate that heritage.Together, we’ve created a limited run of 40 individually numbered outdoor blades—each paired with a one-of-a-kind sheath made from leftover technical materials. Every sheath comes equipped with a mounted survival kit: fire starter, diamond sharpener, and reflective paracord.

Inside the Craft: How a Morakniv is Made
Morakniv traces its roots back to the late 1800s in the town of Mora, where craftsmanship wasn’t just a trade, but a way of life. What began as small-scale knife making by local artisans has evolved into a globally recognized symbol of Scandinavian utility, simplicity, and strength.
In honor of Morakniv’s first-ever collaboration, we traveled to Mora to see firsthand where every Morakniv is made. In the very factory where knowledge and skill have been passed down through generations.
Each knife begins in the press hall, where steel is selected based on purpose — carbon, stainless, or laminated. With the force of 120 tons, blades are stamped with precision and power. The next step is heat treatment, a closely guarded secret that enhances the steel’s strength, sharpness, and flexibility. It’s what gives Morakniv blades their distinct performance and resilience. After hardening, blades are ground into shape and polished to a razor-sharp finish. Edges are checked continuously to ensure sharpness, shine, and consistency.
Handles and sheaths are molded from durable polymers at over 200°C, shaped for control and function. For the classic wooden-handled knives, craftsmanship lives on — each one is assembled by hand, just as it was in 1891.
